These terms govern your use of MarketScope Nigeria. By using the platform you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. The service

MarketScope Nigeria provides educational market information, research tools, directories and community reviews about Nigerian markets, businesses and services. The platform is informational only.

2. No financial advice

Nothing on this platform is personalised financial, investment, legal, tax or accounting advice. We are not a licensed broker, dealer or investment adviser. All content — including stock pages, metrics, analytics, comparisons, reviews and calculators — is general educational information. You must do your own research and, where appropriate, consult a properly licensed professional before making any financial decision. Investments involve risk, including total loss of capital; past performance never guarantees future results.

3. Data accuracy and availability

  • Market data may be delayed, incomplete or unavailable, and is always labelled with its source and timestamp.
  • During the current build phase, market figures are clearly labelled demonstration data and must not be used for any decision.
  • Where no sourced data exists we display "Data currently unavailable" rather than an invented number — but sourced data can still contain errors. Report suspected errors via the contact form.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and be at least 13 years old to register. We may suspend accounts used for abuse, spam or fraud.

5. User content and reviews

  • You keep ownership of content you submit and grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it on the platform.
  • Reviews must be honest, lawful and your own experience. Defamation, spam, hate speech, personal data dumps and fabricated reviews are prohibited.
  • All user reviews are moderated and never published automatically; we may edit, reject or remove any submission, and report-abuse flags are reviewed by moderators.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to scrape at harmful volumes, attempt unauthorised access, probe or breach security, circumvent rate limits, or use the platform for any illegal purpose. Automated access is permitted only through the documented public API within reasonable limits.

7. Intellectual property

The platform's design, code, editorial content and methodology are our property or our licensors'. Company names, tickers and factual data belong to their respective sources; editorial scores and reviews are our independent opinions. You may quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link; systematic reproduction requires written permission.

8. Advertising, affiliates and sponsorship

The platform may carry advertising, affiliate links and sponsored listings. These are always labelled, carry appropriate disclosure, and never determine editorial scores or ratings. Purchasing through an affiliate link may earn us a commission at no additional cost to you.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes fall to the competent courts of Nigeria.
